Mole Control
Moles are common throughout Britian, but rarely seen as they
spend almost their entire time underground, only occasionally appearing
above ground at the top of their Mole hills, and even then usually only
the head and snout is revealed. Moles have a well developed sense of orientation retaining a
mental plan of their complex layout of underground tunnels. The texture
of the fur allows it to lay in any direction, making it easier for the
animal to reverse rapidly in the tunnels. When the soil is shallow or subject to flooding, large molehills
known as "fortresses" may be formed. These can be very large and contain
a chamber of several tunnels. The tail is carried erect and the hairs
on the tip give the Mole information about its surroundings by brushing
against the tunnel roof. There are many old wives tales about catching moles and to date
none of them have been found to work. We have gone to many Gardens to
find some look like miniture fairgrounds! Small windmills,Sonic
repellants,Solar powered gizmo's to name a few. When it comes to Mole catching in Suffolk we only use traps, the
traditional methods have proved the best. Customers need to be aware that once a run is vacated by a mole,
another can move into that set of tunnels that are offering a
supply of food.Re-infestation therefore can and frequently does occur no
matter which method of treatment is introduced.
