Wasp Nest Removal Suffolk

Wasp nest removal is one of our main pest control treatments that we carry out in the summer months. In spring wasp queens leave their hibernation and start building new wasp nests with a papery material that she makes by chewing small pieces of wood mixed with saliva. This is known as Wasp Paper. She will raise the first few workers by her own efforts and those workers will then commence the enlargement of the nest and caring for the immature wasps to follow.
Wasp nest construction starts in spring and the nest will reach its maximum in size in August and September, when 5000 - 20,000 workers may be present. In late autumn wasp nests produce up to 2000 queens to hibernate and build new nests the following spring. The wasp nest itself is then spent and never used again.
Wasp nests can be found in some of the most unusual places, We have even discovered a wasp nest in an old tea pot in a garden shed and even under a bed!. Most wasp nests however are found under tiles, in loft spaces and hedges. The lower the wasp nest to the ground then the more aggressive the wasps can quickly become.
Wasp Nest Treatment
Wasp nest treatments can be carried out in a variety of ways, our preferred method is by the use of a contact dust. The dust is sprayed either into the nest itself or at the entrance. If sprayed at the entrance of the nest the wasps on entering will pick up the dust and carry it in. The wasp nest will then die off within a few hours.
Wasp Stings
A wasp nest should never be approached unprotected as wasps will readily attack to defend their nest and it is possible to sustain a large number of stings.
Individuals react differently to being stung by wasps, some are hardly affected, others suffer considerable pain and swelling and a few become seriously allergic to being stung, which in some cases results in sudden death due to anaphylactic shock.
