Squirrels Suffolk

The Grey Squirrel began appearing in the countryside during the 19th Century. They have invaded preactically every county in England, and have survived repeated Government attempts at extermination.
Squirrels are not thought to carry diseases, however they have attributed to the drastic decline in numbers of our native red squirrel.
Squirrels are only a problem when they gain access into your loft. Once inside, they will tear up insulating material to build their nests. They will also gnaw woodwork, plastic piping and electric wiring, which could lead to floods or fires. The usual solution to a squirrel problem is a trapping programme.
Look Out For:
- drays of twigs, leaves and torn up insulation in your loft space;
- droppings - vary in shape and colour but may be spherical or more elongated. These are easily confused with those of the Brown Rat
- signs of damage to woodwork and wiring.
- Noises in loft, these may stop around 10pm and start back up early morning.
